CONCORDIA, KS- The Cloud County Board of Commissioners approved the slate of awardees for the Get in the Cloud, Cloud County Small Business Grant program.
Earlier this year, the Cloud County Commissioners renewed funds for the Get in the Cloud Small Business Grant Program in the amount of $150,000. The grant program is only for businesses with 50 employees or less. Applicants must reside in Cloud County Kansas or own a small business physically located in Cloud County, Kansas. Both start-up companies and existing businesses can apply for funds. Each applicant can apply for 50% of start-up costs, up to $50,000 for their venture. The grant funds can only be used for permanent upgrades to existing structures or building a new structure. In May, six award winners were chosen and $17,500.00 remained for the July grant period.
One area business was awarded funding:
NCK Mats & More was awarded $17,500. Owners Jeff and Ronda Gumm are starting a commercial laundry business to build upon Jeff’s many years of service in the industry. This new business will be located on Highway 81 and grant funds will be used to upgrade electricity service and bring in gas and water lines to the building.
The total amount of funds awarded was $17,500.00, utilizing the remaining funds in the 2015 allocation of the Get in the Cloud Grant fund.
